We want to make sure you stay connected while keeping notifications just the way you like them. Whether you want real-time updates or a quieter experience, here’s how you can customize your settings.
Notification Settings
All new messages – Stay in the loop with notifications for every message in the chat.
Only for mentions (@mentions) – Get notified only when someone directly tags you.
Mute the channel – Prefer peace and quiet? Turn off notifications completely.
Email Notifications
By default, your client will receive an email for any new messages.
Clients can adjust settings to mentions-only or mute the channel.
If a message remains unread for one minute, an email will be sent as a gentle reminder.
To keep things simple, only one email is sent until you log in and read the conversation—this prevents spamming your clients with notifications even if the conversation keeps going.
Checking Member Notification Settings
Open the Members tab in the chat.
Members who have muted the channel or set notifications to mentions-only will be marked.
This helps you see who might not receive immediate alerts, making it easier to communicate effectively.
Pop-up Notifications
In addition to standard notifications, you may see Pop-up Notifications across the app while using Sydnee.
These pop-ups help keep you informed in real-time without needing to check the chat manually.
Click the pop up to jump right to the conversation
If you'd like to turn them off, go to Profile Settings or click Manage pop-up notifications in the chat settings.
From there, toggle off Pop-up Alerts and they will no longer appear while you navigate Sydnee.
Pop up notifications do not appear while using Sydnee from a mobile browser.
The client view only has three of the latest messages coming out of their chat bubble - they can not turn that off.
Sound Notifications
A sound will go off when you receive a notification in Sydnee.
The sound appears at the same time as a pop up notification, respecting your notification preference in each conversation.
If you receive multiple messages in a row, at most the sound will go off once every 5 seconds.
If you'd like to turn them off, go to Profile Settings.
From there, toggle off Live chat sounds, and they will no longer go off while using Sydnee.
Feel free to tweak your settings in the Notification Settings menu to make sure you’re getting the right balance of updates and focus.
We’re here to help you stay informed without the noise! 😊
